David Gilsenan
David Gilsenan, Gesang, Gitarre, Perkussion, kommt ursprünglich aus Trim, Co. Meath, Irland, wohnt aber seit 1988 in Steffisburg im Berner Oberland. Als er noch in Irland lebte, liess er sich vor allem von Simon and Garfunkel inspirieren, doch kaum ausgewandert, entdeckte er die traditionelle Musik seiner Heimat für sich. Irisch (Gälisch) lernte er in der Schule und lernt bis heute… Man sagt, wenn Du Gälisch mit ihm redest, dann singt David einen Song für Dich – aber das ist eine andere Geschichte. Scéal eile!

David Gilsenan, vocals, guitar, percussion, originally from Trim, Co. Meath, Ireland, moved to Steffisburg in 1988. Influenced by Simon and Garfunkel while still in Ireland, his taste ironically turned to Irish folk and traditional music having moved abroad. He learned Irish at school and is still learning it in latter years! It is rumoured that if you speak to him „as Gaeilge“, he will sing a song for you….but that is another story! Scéal eile!
